| Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust |
| |
| Winstone Aggregates is proud to be a major sponsor of the Maungatautari Ecological Island project. The objective of the trust is to develop a ‘mainland island’ - a fully vermin-proof sanctuary for the preservation of indigenous wildlife right down to frogs, insects and fish as well as endangered birdlife. The Trust has successfully constructed a 47km pest-proof fence around Maungatutari Mountain and is now re-introducing threatened species that have been lost from the area including kiwi, kokako, giant weta and tuatara. www.maungatrust.org |

| Together, Winstone Aggregates and the Te Mana Taiao Environmental Trust aim to widen opportunities for people development and as a result of this Winstone Aggregates has specifically developed a summer internship programme for students of Maori decent. |

| Pokeno School |

| Winstone Aggregates has provided Pokeno School with substantial funding toward the construction of a large sheltered area. Currently under development the shelter is expected to be available to the wider Pokeno community as well as the school children in early 2008. |
